I’m a HUGE fan of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and have done (and yes, finished) a whole heap in my time.  This webpage provides a Massive List of MOOC providers that you can trawl through and select an online course to undertake to your heart’s content.

Learn How to Paint with Bob Ross

Bob Ross was a famous painter and his series of the Joy of Painting is all available online.  Even if you’re not a painter, you can watch these (they’re quite soothing to watch).  In each episode, Ross taught techniques for landscape oil painting, completing a painting in each session.

So what are you waiting for?

If you’re a subscriber to Netflix or Amazon Prime, take advantage by watching the best historical tv shows on offer that the moment.

 

Why don’t you add some more learning by reading something about the period or delving more into the characters backgrounds and autobiographies?

 

Participate in Virtual Cinema

Can’t go to the cinema?  Don’t worry, you can visit online and be part of the Remote Viewing Cinema.

The Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI) will be screening weekly movies.  They’ll release details of the movie through social media.  You can also recreate the communal experience of watching as a collective by using Metastream that allows you to invite your friends to watch at the same time, from your respective homes.
