I can’t begin to tell you how satisfying it is watching this YouTube channel called Magnet World. With magnets (just like Lego) you can build whatever you want. Check out the various videos here and put in an order to buy the magnetic balls (you can buy them eBay) and have a go at them yourself.

Learn the New Corona Lingo (Language)
Want to learn the new words that seem to have now become part of our daily vernacular? How many do you know or use? (Personally, I had been using the abbreviations BC and AC – Before and After Corona – for a long time so it’s good to see that it’s made it into the list!)
Wonderful, delightful and comprehensive compilation of the new language emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic compiled by @tonythorne007
Amusing, useful, instructive, and demonstrating how utterly alive the English language and our communication are.https://t.co/eoicYtrAYD

This one was from @PaulWoods who shared the Map Developers site. On this site, you can add your address to the search field and then it draws a circle around it according to your preferred distance. Now why would you want to do that? It’s a great way to see what’s in your local area. From cafes (okay, you may not go to these now but you can support buying a coffee) and other areas of interest such as parks. I used it to see the distance to various landmarks in my local area and to search for bike tracks.
Learn Auslan Australian Sign Language
During COVID19, I watched the announcements on television and there was always someone interpreting the message into Auslan for the hearing impaired and it got me thinking about the importance of this language for everyone to know and learn.
I searched online for a free course and came across this one by Martha Grimstone, where there’s an entire playlist of how to get started and some more information on her blog.

Learn How to Use a Sewing Machine
Sewing seems to be a skill that not many people do nowadays. I grew up with a mother who sewed as a hobby but also for work. All my clothes were hand made however it’s a skill that I never learned myself because it looked too hard with all the needles and bobbles and power cords and noise….but it need not be hard. Sewing is a great skill to know because it helps you mend your clothes but also make new ones that no one else wears! Here’s how to start!
