Why Some Managers Won’t Hire Top Performers Liz Ryan, Forbes, 14 June 2018
“Even though we are told that great managers hire people who are smarter than they are, and we are told that top performers drive a company’s success, plenty of managers shy away from hiring sharp and talented people.
They hire someone “safer” than a super-smart and outspoken firebrand.
They hire someone more pliable, who will do what they’re told to do without complaining.”

Performance Improvement Consulting
Workshop runs 16 July – 12 August 2018
Individuals and teams often face performance problems. Instead of reaching for a training solution, you need to (work with a manager to) carry out a Performance Analysis to diagnose the (actual) problem, identify the best solution(s) – which may or may not be training. You will then need to help to implement the solution and measure the performance change (rather than any learning).
