emerged:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Reading<\/strong> is the most frequent pro-active daily activity for those over 40 years of age, whilst for those under 40 it is <strong>watching<\/strong> <strong>videos and listening to podcasts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Those in their 30s are most likely to have a <strong>mentor<\/strong> and work with them on a quarterly basis<\/li>\n<li>The most popular frequency for<strong>\u00a0online courses<\/strong> is a quarterly for those in their 30s and 40s, whilst it drops to half-yearly\/yearly for those in their 50s and to less often than yearly for those in their 60s.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The frequency of learning from these activities has been added to the graphic on the 4 D&#8217;s of Learning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" https:\/\/modernworkplacelearning.com\/cild\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/mwl2023-5-624x447.png 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What is now very clear to see is that the activities that fall into the DISCOVERY, DOING and DISCOURSE categories take place much more frequently (ie\u00a0<strong>daily or weekly)<\/strong>\u00a0than DIDACTICAL activities &#8211; and yet that is where most L&amp;D effort is placed.<\/p>\n<p>So the next question we need to consider is which of these ways of learning offer the most value to people.
